BSL for Beginners Workshop - 'Have a Go!'

The aim of the workshop is for you to develop and practise BSL skills at your own level. You will meet and sign with other students and tutors in an informal and fun environment. It is a great opportunity to prepare for the start of formal courses or assessments.

There is no prior knowledge or experience required.

There is no formal assessment but the tutors will provide continuous feedback on your progress throughout the sessions.

The workshop will enable you to make informed decisions about other courses of study from Level 1 to 3 that you could move on to.

Cost: £15 which includes tea / coffee refreshments.

'Sign for Change' - WDDA Family Fun Day

Wiltshire and Dorset Deaf Association is holding a family friendly fundraising and deaf awareness event 'Sign for Change' in Boscombe Chine Gardens (Christchurch Road end) on Sunday 22 July 2018. We will be hosting a screening of the Oscar winning film 'The Silent Child' and introduction to BSL sessions inside the FOBGC Education Centre (next to the basketball court) alongside a vintage style tea party and refreshments throughout the day, a performance from our Signing Choir 'Significance' outside and a range of children's activities.

The aim of the event is to help bring hearing and Deaf children and families together and to help breakdown some of the barriers to communication by introducing families to BSL. We are fundraising to support our work teaching Deaf parents of young pupils to deliver to Deaf Awareness & Communication training to local Nursery and Primary Schools in Dorset.
