Health and Wellbeing Network Meetings
We organised four conferences for local groups to;
- better understand their contribution to health and wellbeing,
- help them improve their impact on health and wellbeing, and
- engage with Public Health Dorset and with LiveWell Dorset (a free service, commissioned by Public Health Dorset, for adults living in Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset who would like support to change their lifestyle by offering free health and wellbeing information, in particular: to stop smoking, increase physical activity, managing weight and reducing alcohol intake).
The first in September 2014 raised awareness of the new Dorset Improvement Hub and how it could work with front line groups. Delegates identified how their work impacted on the Five Ways to Wellbeing (see Factsheet 3a) and what support they need. For the conference report go here.
The second in April 2015 was an opportunity to meet the company running the new Health Improvement Hub (LiveWell Dorset) and how front line groups and LWD can work together, including a panel Q&A session. For the conference report go here.
The third in October 2015 had reports on the surveys we had undertaken into front line groups’ contribution and their training needs. There was a presentation on a draft toolkit to help group better plan, and measure, their impact on health and wellbeing. LWD gave an update on their service.
