Successes in the last year (2013/2014)

BCVS Membership: Last year we had a record number of local Voluntary and Community groups sign up for membership and we would like to thank all 152 for their support. This year we are hoping to increase our number of members even more.

Volunteer Centre: There were 1298 new volunteers registered with Bournemouth Volunteer Centre. Each month they distribute 210 voluntary vacancies brochures with an average of 319 positions listed. Brochures are displayed in all twelve local libraries. An average month sees 106 enquiries from potential new volunteers.

Equipment: We made 80 loans which included pieces of equipment such as projectors, laptops and screens. We also redistributed 37 items of donated furniture including desks, chairs, speakers and cameras.

Advice: We have responded to 692 requests from 132 local organisations for detailed advice on a range of topic.

Events: We held 17 events with 497 delegates from Voluntary and Community organisations. This includes our three forums which met three times a year; Criminal Justice, Children & Young People and Health & Wellbeing. These forums are a chance for you to find out what is happening in the area as well as giving you a chance to network with other organisations. We also worked in partnership with the Sheila McKechnie Foundation to run a Campaigning Workshop with Tobias Ellwood MP and Andy Martin, Deputy Editor of News at the Bournemouth Echo as guest speakers.

Training: We ran 20 training courses, on a variety of subjects, with 295 attendees.
